Immune System
by Gerald Aardsma; February 12, 2018
Many users of Dr. Aardsma’s Vitamin MePA Dietary Supplement report enhanced immune function due to the vitamin.
This is not surprising for two reasons. First, superlongevity seems more or less to demand enhanced immune function. For example, infections have historically been a major cause of death. An increase in longevity by more than a factor of ten, such as is seen pre-Flood, seems to require significantly reduced risk of death due to infection.
Second, other deficiency diseases are known to result in decreased immune function. Examples include deficiencies of vitamin A [Stephensen, 2001], vitamin D [Aranow, 2011], magnesium [Laires, 2008], and zinc [Prasad, 2008]. So it is not surprising that supplementation of the diet with vitamin MePA should correlate with enhanced immune function.
Skin Infections
My attention was first drawn to this effect of the vitamin about 13 months after I had started supplementing with 1 microgram of MePA per day. In particular, supplementation with the vitamin cleared up a chronic skin infection around my nose. I had battled this recurring infection with topical creams for years. Here is the record regarding this from my lab notebook.
2016/12/28 – Joey and Sonya Contreras visited yesterday. They said I looked different. In particular, the inflammation around my nose was gone. I had more or less forgotten about this chronic inflammation. I had tried some time previously to clear it up by using Dermarest® Eczema Medicated Lotion in conjunction with an anti-fungal topical cream [recommended by my doctor], but this had not succeeded. So my approach to the problem had reverted to my long-time solution of using Dermarest® alone each time it flared up. I now realize that I have not had to use Dermarest® on it for quite a while.
Subsequently, I realized that another chronic skin infection of my navel, which I had also battled for years, had also cleared up.
Neither of these infections has subsequently caused any trouble.
Other users have noted similar things. The following observation is one such example. It pertains to a woman who had been supplementing with Dr. Aardsma’s Vitamin MePA Dietary Supplement for four weeks.
A skin yeast infection around her waist has cleared up. She has had this for some time and has used a special lotion for it in the past.
Sinus Infection
Skin is not the only body tissue to benefit from vitamin MePA’s boost of the immune system. Here, for example, is a report regarding what appears to be a chronic sinus infection. Jim is an elderly gentleman who had been taking Dr. Aardsma’s Vitamin MePA Dietary Supplement for two and a half months at the time of the report.
Jim has had a sinus(?) problem for the past 2 years or so, to the point that it would wake him up coughing/choking during the night. The first night after taking MePa, he experienced a LOT of drainage, but this was liquid instead of real thick. He hasn’t experienced trouble since.
Upper Respiratory Infections
There have been multiple reports of relative immunity to upper respiratory infections. The following is one example. It is written by my son, Matthew, a Ph.D. student in Animal Nutrition at Purdue.
November 29, 2017
I started taking Dr. Aardsma’s Vitamin MePA Dietary Supplement at 1 drop per day on October 17, 2017. I am a healthy, 27 year old male.
After about two weeks, I noticed small improvements in sleep quality and in my ability to keep a positive mental outlook even in the face of difficulties. In the last week, however, I have seen what is, in my mind, conclusive evidence that MePA is having a positive impact on my health.
A coworker in the same office with me was sick with a cold. The coworker took at least one day off, complaining of being very sick.
Several days later, I got sick with a cold. Given my limited exposure to people outside my workplace, it seemed likely I caught it from the sick coworker. I expected to get equally sick or worse.
Instead, I did surprisingly well. While my body was sick with the usual symptoms of a cold, I never experienced the rock-bottom low that I usually get for a day or so when sick. By “rock-bottom low” I mean feeling like it is an effort to accomplish anything and just wanting to stay in bed for a day. I never missed a day of work, and I felt motivated to be productive despite the normal symptoms of sneezing etc.
I passed this off, figuring that I had probably gotten just a minor version of the cold.
Then, a few days later, my wife also got sick with a cold. This was most likely the same cold I had as she is a stay-at-home mom. Over several days, she got very sick. She spent most of a day in bed feeling like she was physically unable to keep going. This was a real surprise. My wife seems to have a stronger immune system than mine and she usually does not get as sick as I do.
In the several years we have been married, we have had many colds as a family. I have never had a sickness experience like this one before. After only 5 weeks of taking Dr. Aardsma’s Vitamin MePA Dietary Supplement, I do appear to have experienced some type of boosting of my immune response to the common cold that prevented me from getting as sick as my coworker and my wife, neither of whom are currently taking MePA.
February 11, 2018
This unusual sickness experience repeated itself with another cold which moved through our family last week.
My wife and kids each lost about a night of sleep and were pretty wiped out for about 24 hours until the cold started to abate.
I woke up a few mornings with a bit of a sore throat that was gone by mid-morning each day. I never had most of the normal cold symptoms the rest of the family displayed (e.g., constant sneezing, runny nose), and I never missed a day of work or felt like I needed to slow down at all.
My ability to fend off the common cold appears to have increased compared to the November incident reported above. In November, I had all the usual cold symptoms, but I felt like I recovered quickly and I did not get as sick as I had expected. This time, I could barely tell I was sick.
Again, this is very odd for me. I usually catch every virus that floats around the office. I have even had a co-worker at one point in the past year or two tell me to start eating more fruits and vegetables in an effort to strengthen my immune system!
I can only conclude that vitamin MePa has boosted my immune system in some way that enables me to more effectively fight off infections. The increased productivity with less sick time has been a very welcome, albeit unexpected, result of taking MePa.
So successful was the vitamin at fighting upper respiratory infections in my case that, for a while, I thought that maybe I would never experience another one. Unfortunately, this did not prove to be the case.
After months of catching nothing, while others around me who were not taking the vitamin repeatedly had colds, I finally caught a bad cold or flu in late November. This was accompanied by headache and fever, cost me lost sleep for one night, and lasted several days.
While vitamin MePA is (unfortunately) not a complete cure of all upper respiratory infections, it obviously provides a substantial measure of protection.
CIDP
An additional indication that vitamin MePA boosts the immune system is its action against CIDP. I have previously discussed this in Aging: Cause & Cure. (There is a link to the book in the banner bar at the top of this page.) This was, in fact, the first evidence I had that MePA was the anti-aging vitamin which theory said it should be.
CIDP is an autoimmune disease. That is, it is due to a breakdown of the immune system in which the immune system is no longer able properly to identify “self.” As a result, it attacks body tissues (nerve sheathing in the case of CIDP) with resultant damage to the organism.
Following a decade of relentless disease, vitamin MePA began to roll back my CIDP after a mere three and a half weeks of dosing at 1 microgram per day. It appears that vitamin MePA somehow repaired my broken immune system, allowing it to properly recognize “self” once again.
Conclusion
It seems clear, even at this early stage, that vitamin MePA is intimately involved with the immune system and that dietary supplementation with vitamin MePA significantly boosts immune function.
In addition to its implications for preventing onset of numerous potential diseases, this conclusion has potentially large implications for the battle against already established diseases.
For example, it encourages the hypothesis that MePA may be able to activate the immune system against existing cancer cells. A first test of this hypothesis with prostate cancer has given a positive result.
As a second example, it encourages the hypothesis that MePA may be able to repair the immune system so that it begins to properly recognize “self” once again, potentially correcting existing autoimmune diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, multiple sclerosis, celiac disease, psoriasis, and many others.
